CatchLog was pleased to be involved in this year’s Seafood Directions Conference at the Gold Coast supporting the fishing industry and searching for new solutions to challenges and issues faced by our fishers.
Of particular interest was a workshop facilitated by Bob Stanley from AFMA. In this presentation he was able to identify savings for Fisheries and vessel owners who use electronic log books rather than paper logs. Bob said, “If there was to be 85% to 100% take up of “Lite E-Logs” software by ETBF operators at $500 each there is a potential $1,800 saving in their levy in the following year.
E-Logs are a more equitable option for fishers.”
Fishermen save with new E-logs choices

Other vessels, due to their location and type of fishery they work in, require a Quota Manager. Some Skippers want to be able to call up data on their most recent catch or compare their catches over many seasons to identify best locations for fishing in current conditions. Tailoring the software to suit the need makes it easy for vessel owners to take advantage of our software’s capabilities without straining their budget,” said Mr Bohm.
